The annual club Xmas party was held at the Dagenham and Redbridge football club on Saturday December 9. Student of the year awards were presented to Georgie and Kay Cameron and to Ray Cutting for their outstanding achievements during 2006. See this Student of the Year link for more detail.
Pearl Vant won a special mention for all the work she does for the club - especially all the 'photos taken over the year, which now number over 4,000 and are well represented on this site. Chris Fennessy was also recognised for the web site, which is now over a year old. Lee Smith presented Pearl with a Bouquet of flowers and Chris with a bottle of (very good) whisky.
The club were very happy to welcome a number of guests from other Ishinryu Clubs including Sensei Moira Barber, Sensei Helen Raye, and Sensei Jon Mottram. In addition we were joined by John Walton, who led the Woodlane Dojo during the eighties and early nineties.
